Igor Beuker editor of Viralblog & founder of SocialMedia8 talks about his number one social media tip

Igor will be speaking on Monday’s 10.30am Panel :  “The changing role of social networking as an influencer of worldwide media” where he will join Allison Wightman, Head of Marketing Systems, Virgin Atlantic Airways and Sienne Veit, Social and Mobile Commerce Development Manager, M&S Direct.
They will discuss topics such as what the next 5 to 10 years have in store for social media and what impact social tools will have on global media and future social engagement.

– From your experience if you had to recommend one tip for using social media what would it be?
Start with a social media marketing strategy if your brand team has the right mentality and DNA and is really willing to listen to consumers.

– What do you think is the biggest thing that marketers fail to realize about social media?
Consumers are important brand owners, 92% of digital natives only buy products and services if their peers have written a positive review about it, advertising comes next.

– How do you measure success in social media?  How do you justify it to a client?
