FinTech meets Telecom
The upcoming #PSD2 / Open API regulations, a slew of recent deals and a tech-savvy Europe are set to accelerate telecom / mobile-driven financial services. FinTech meets Telecom is the first to bring together FinTech startups with telecoms, financial institutions and investors focused on this opportunity.
In Sep. 2014, Norwegian telecom giant Telenor launched its mobile-only bank in Serbia. Telenor banka had acquired over 180000 customers by the summer of 2016 (vs. biggest traditional bank which had 500000 mobile users).
Last year, Telefónica launched a mobile bank account paying interest in megabytes in Germany in partnership with Fidor Bank, while Lebara announced the launch of financial services starting with its 5M+ customers, with the ambition to target the nearly 1B strong migrant community globally.
On our panel discussion “The Telecoms’ Dilemma- to B(ank) or not to B(ank)?” at FinTech meets Telecom, we will hear from Martin Navratil (Telenor), Clemens Grond (Telefonica) and Selma Ribica (Lebara Financial Services) on their achievements, learnings and ambitions.
On the panel “PSD2, FinTechs, Telecoms, APIs…- What Can European Banks Pull Off?” we will hear the banks’ perspective – e.g. from MoneYou, the mobile banking arm of ABN Amro.
We are looking forward to a great event on 23rd Mar. 2017 and would like to thank our event partners – PocoPay, PwC Strategy& and Gründerszene for their support so far. Interested participants / sponsors / nominations: please drop us a line via LinkedIn or contact us on email@example.com.
